Bloomington Living Hope Lutheran Church is a vibrant community that dates back to 1952. For over sixty-two years, our church has been ministering to the needs of our communities. And while facilities and faces have changed over the years, this remains the same...our commitment to Christ, to one another, and to the betterment of our community.
Our church today is an active community comprised of over 700 households at two locations. Led by a dedicated staff and strong corps of lay leaders and volunteers, there is an increasing number of ways that people of all ages can participate in the spiritual, educational, social and service ministries of our church.
God has done much through us. From our inception He has grown our congregation from a mission to a large multi-site ministry. He has blossomed our Christian Day School to be one of the largest Christian schools in the area and a longstanding pillar of fine Christian education. In the fall of 2002 He privileged us to build a new church in the Savage, Prior Lake and East Shakopee communities. Now we must be prepared to meet the need for more ministry space and a more reverent worship space. Maintaining our Bloomington location is also important to us. This will put us into a position of being able to implement our outreach plans and to encourage and address additional growth. In short, when we Build More, we can Do More, and Serve More.
The second anniversary of our three year Build More, Do More, Serve More campaign is quickly approaching. The campaign continuation committee is now working hard on reaching out via letters and phone calls to various member groups to invite members to participate in the campaign for the first time as well as to confirm member's intentions who are currently giving without a commitment. As of the end of February 2017, the Lord has moved more than 3 of every 4 contributing member households to participate in some way to this campaign. What a blessing and we thank God for this. After celebrating the second anniversary of the campaign with an event in May of this year, commitments and in-kind gifts will be totaled and compared with the final construction costs currently being worked on by the building committee to determine the additional amount needed to be raised. Once the additional amount is known, a plan, which could include a second campaign, will be brought before the congregation for consideration. May the Lord continue to bless our congregation as we seek to do His will to know Christ and to make Him known!
