Attend Bible Class - There's a class for You!
Everyone is welcome at any Bible class at any time, even if you have not been attending since the beginning.
Sunday Morning Adult Bible Class
9:00 am at Living Hope
9:15 am at Bloomington Lutheran Church
This fall, our Sunday morning Bible study continues, with, "Idols We Never Knew We Had." We all worship something or someone every day. In doing so, we make these objects our gods. Although many people think of idolatry as a primitive practice of ancient cultures or third-world tribes, it's as big an issue in today's Western world as it has ever been. In this study, participants will identify many present-day idols and be equipped by God's Word to avoid falsely worshiping them.
Jr. High Empower Bible Study (Grades 6-8)
9:00 am at Living Hope
9:15 am at Bloomington Lutheran Church
We are excited to offer middle-school-age students an opportunity for Biblical teaching and discussion during the Education hour on Sunday mornings. Each week we will examine different topics and sections of the Bible and apply them to our lives as young Christians. Sometimes, we do other activities and projects during the time to keep our Sunday mornings filled with adventure and variety.
Sr. High Vertical Encounters (Grades 9-12)
6:00 pm at Living Hope
On Sunday nights, we look forward to gathering together with other Christian teens. It is a great time to connect through snacks and games, and to discuss issues that are looming large in our lives. We do our best to blend in solid Biblical study with real-life applications on the topics in front of us each week.
Tuesday Morning Men’s Bible Study
6:30 am at Bloomington Lutheran School
Join us as we begin a reading of The Screwtape Letters. The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is a classic masterpiece of religious satire that entertains readers with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below." At once wildly comic, deadly serious and strikingly original, C.S.Lewis's The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation - and triumph over it - ever written.
Tuesday Evening Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing Bible Class
6:30 p.m. at Living Hope Lutheran Church
This deaf Bible study group is entering its third year of meeting - what a blessing! This fall we will be studying the parables of Jesus in the New Testament. All material is projected onto a large screen for easy reading. An interpreter is also provided. The group is always open to new members and enjoys fellowship with one another at each class period. Contact Pastor Krueger at email@example.com for more information.
Wednesday Morning Ladies’ Bible Study
9:15-10:45 a.m. at the Carrabon Home, very close to Living Hope
(Childcare provided at Living Hope)
We are all chasing after something that we think will make us happy - comfort, success, a bigger house, or someone's approval. But if we are all honest, it feels like trying to catch the wind. In the Bible study, Chase, by Jennie Allen, we will see how God has carved out a space in each of us that only he can fill. Chase is a seven-session, video-based study that explores the events that defined David's life and the Psalms that flowed out of those experiences. Each participant will need to purchase a study guide on their own. Please note that the group meets at a member's home which is very close to Living Hope and childcare is provided at Living Hope. If you have any questions about purchasing the study guide, childcare, or the group itself, feel free to contact Tracy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wednesday Morning Adult Bible Study
10:00 a.m. at Bloomington Lutheran School
We will study, Hosea...Critic And Comforter For Today. This study shows how God draws parallels between Hosea's marriage and His relationship with the Israelites - and ultimately with us. Sin was running rampant; yet people refused to change their sinful ways and turn back to God. Is this a problem today? Hosea is a story of sinful people called to give up their sinfulness for the freedom of forgiveness offered by a loving God. And it is a story that applies to every generation. In this study you will discover that God loves all people as His own dear children; all people sin; and God offers forgiveness to His children through His perfect child Jesus. And you will discover ways that you can convey this message of hope to those around you who so desperately need it.
Wednesday Evening Women's Bible Study
7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Living Hope
All women of Bloomington Living Hope Lutheran Church are invited to a new evening Bible study opportunity. The study we will be using is, James - Mercy Triumphs, by Beth Moore. It is an engaging, video-driven study of the book of James that was well-loved and highly recommended by one of our other women's groups. Come and be encouraged and strengthened by other Christian women! Bring a friend - all are welcome! We will be meeting approximately twice each month. Upcoming dates are October 26, November 9, 16, 20 and December 14. Please email email@example.com if you are planning to attend or if you would like more information.
Wednesday Evening Adult Bible Study
7:00 p.m. at Bloomington Lutheran Church
SAMUEL, SAUL, AND DAVID - An Unsettled Trio
This study covers 1 and 2 Samuel, where God's will was expressed in the unsettled relationship between a prophet, a king, and a king-to-be. This trio is an example of God's will being done in spite of the people involved. Even if you have not been able to attend before, you are welcome to join the study at anytime and you will feel up to speed.
Thursday Morning Ladies’ Bible Study
9:30-11:00 a.m. at Bloomington Lutheran Church, beginning again in September
All ladies are invited to join the study, The Truth About Islam by Jane Fryar. It is a four or five week study and discussion. The class will then use the study, Twelve Ordinary Men, to learn about Jesus' disciples. That will take about 16 weeks. Join us!
